New US Airways Flight Operations Control Center: US Airways' new $25 million, 60,000-square-foot flight operations control center is being constructed in Moon Township. The company is consolidating its Phoenix, Arizona, and Pittsburgh operations control centers into a single location that will be responsible for the system and flight operations of all of its aircraft worldwide.  The first day of full operation is scheduled in early 2009. New Medical Examiner's Office, Morgue, and Forensics Laboratory: Provide inspection and testing Services for the Allegheny County New Medical Examiner's Office, Morgue and Forensic Laboratories project. The project involves renovation of a two-story building. The construction costs are about $20 million. Construction is planned to begin in late spring 2007 and be completed in the fall of 2008.

East Ohio Street Improvements : This project is the reconstruction and widening of Route PA 28 between Chestnut Street and the Millvale Interchange, which includes new intersections/interchanges at the 31st and 40th Street Bridges. North Shore Connector : The North Shore Connector project will extend the Port Authority's Light Rail Transit System, the T, 1.2 miles from Gateway Substation underneath Stanwix Street and the Allegheny River - in twin bored tunnels below the river - to the North Shore . New Clack Laboratory Facility: This project is the construction of a new, 2-story, 10,000 square foot building featuring a Level 3 Bio-Hazardous Laboratory. It is located on the existing Health Center Campus at 40th Street and Penn Avenue, Pittsburgh , PA.

STAFF

James Falcione, our Laboratory Manager, is currently completing the AMRL Proficiency program for recertification of our soils laboratory. Our laboratory has been AMRL certified since 1992. We completely endorse this program for the quality standards it sets for our laboratory.
